[UPDATE] Rumor: Resistance 3 billboard spotted on movie set

UPDATE:
Further reports state that the film is due out in early 2011, and is being produced by Sony Pictures.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
Images have surfaced on gaming forum NeoGAF depicting a billboard advertising Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3.
Seen below, the shot was snapped on the set of the film Battle: Los Angeles in Shreveport, Louisiana. Upon closer inspection of the photo, one can make out a silhouette of the State of Liberty, indicating that the game will likely take place in New York City.
Right now that’s all we have to go on the matter. Insomniac Games has made no such announcement regarding a possible third installment in series, though we’ll do our best to dig around for more info. For the time being, file this under rumor and make of it what you will.
Stay tuned to PSU for more information as it breaks.

that's statue of liberty not state. I can't wait to hear more about it i love the resistance series. Also i highly doubt it's going to take place in new york city, if you've played the second one you know why. The statue of liberty stands for more than just New York lol look past the obvious.

if you look closely there is a blacked out section under the name. i highly doubt that would be on any billboard.

i hope they do everything they did in the 2nd game but add co-op to the main story line also, and hopefully they put more of a dark feel to the game like they sorta did for R:FoM but not all gray and sh**. b/c i really liked all the color and stuff they did to resistance 2 but R:FoM had a cool dark sorta feeling and they should add some sorta vehicles into the game,lol

If Resistance 3 does happen, I hope Insomniac games will take their time in the making and have more of a Resistance Fall Of Man type of game rather than the second installement. I mean come on, Fall Of Man had more of that horror feeling, who's with me?
Plus they should return some weapons from the first back to the third one, double pistol uzi's, ect

@19 It might've had a release date or release year or something, and if it is being made, yet hasn't been announced, I don't think they'd want to give away the release date. The billboard was made as product placement and Insomniac just made it to, obviously, tease R3. But, they might have put the date, and since the game isn't officially announced, it'd totally ruin the surprise it.
Not that having a billboard announcing it would keep the surprise, but, you know.

I would probably say it will be out by November 2010. Just like the previous two games, they are separated by 2 years. Nov 06 to Nov 08 to Nov 10.

R2 would have been so much better if it had online 4 player co-op for single player everyone of your friends going in seperate ways and meeting up like they do in the story, unfrotunatly so many die at the end so slightly pointless they shouldnt have killed any off, R2's story lost me to be honest.

insomniac's gotta fix a ton of things in res. the first one's graphics were barely on par for a next gen game but personally it had that fun factor which made it a blast to play with all my friends then came r2 and it was gone. must need splitscreen must need coop. and there was sumthing about r2 that didn't feel right....

second let me point out under resitance 3 something is blacked out It probably wouldnt have an ESRB rating or whatever its called and the PS3 symbol seems to small

AWESOME!!! I'm so happy it'll take place in New York City. They need to focus more on polishing up the graphics though because R2's graphics were pretty decent, but had some obvious polish glitches, like a glowing piece of wood in a dark room, or a random extremely blurry texture, or body parts floating around in the air. Also, I hope the blood is more realistic. I can't wait to see what's going on in the story in number 3. Also, I hope Hale is alive, and more badazz than ever.

@33, No the billboard has the "RP", it hasn't been rated yet.
Hopefully this is true and its a teaser for the fans. Oh and I hope to see this game become a greater improvement over the last one. Like Co-Op!!, old and new weapons, better theme, better levels(Please no more crappy obvious levels, give us broad larger levels!), vehicle levels(Using a stalker was badass), better bosses(I want to fight more then one Goliath please, and no easy bosses that I can beat on Super Human- Leviathan).
If my guess is right, we might get a new protagonist on this. Nathan Hale is done as a protagonist and I don't think that Compelli(?) is fit for that job.

wtf? how can it be set in ny? didnt any1 here take notice of the ending of R2? doesnt even make sense. if its set in NY then we pretty much should just ignore everything that happened in the last scene. lame
